FALL 2009 MESDA SATURDAY SEMINARS 

The MESDA Saturday Seminar provides an opportunity for those who share an interest in the study and collection of southern decorative arts to strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the antique objects they collect and study, and to build relationships in the field of collecting and scholarship. Each one-day program focuses on a specific area of interest with speaker presentations, object examination, participant discussion.  

SEMINAR SCHEDULE:

10:00 am Coffee and registration

10:15 – 12:30 Morning Session Presentations

12:30 pm Lunch

1:30 – 3:45 Afternoon Session Presentations

      Object study

3:45 – 4:15 Closing Discussion 

REGISTRATION FEE: $55

Includes all sessions, seminar materials and lunch.

Participation is limited. Pre-registration is required to ensure a place.

DIRECTIONS

 

The Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA) is located in the Frank L. Horton Museum Center at 924 S. Main Street in Old Salem. 

From I-40 or U.S. 52 follow signs to Old Salem.

From BUSINESS 40, take Exit 5D - Main Street / Liberty Street and follow signs to Old Salem.

Enter Old Salem on either Academy Street or on Walnut Street (across from the Visitor Center).

At the top of the hill, turn right on Main Street. 

The Horton Museum Center. at 924 South Main Street is the last building on the right before the circle.  

Parking is available on the street, and in the Visitor Center parking across the footbridge. 

The Old Salem Visitor Center, located at 900 Old Salem Road, is easily accessible to MESDA by the covered footbridge
